Overview
This policy explains how Piranix Smart Glass Inc. (“Piranix”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information when you visit piranix.com or use the Piranix Home web and iOS apps and their related application programming interfaces (together, the “Services”).
Piranix is based in Vancouver, BC, Canada and is responsible for the personal information described here. This policy does not govern a third-party website, identity provider, or voice assistant that has its own privacy policy.
Sign-in, not surveillance.
Provider identity data is used to create, secure, and recognize your account.
No advertising profile.
The marketing site currently has no analytics or advertising tracker integration.
Controls need context.
Household and device data is used to operate the smart-glass experience you configure.
Information we handle
Account and identity information
An account can include your name, email address, email-verification status, and account identifiers. If you use password sign-in, Piranix stores a one-way hash of the password rather than the plain password. If you use Google or Apple, we store the identity provider, its stable identifier for your account, your verified email, the name the provider supplies, and sign-in timing.
Home, household, and device information
Piranix Home stores the configuration needed to provide controls: home and household member names, member emails and roles, room and device names, device type and area, desired clear or private state, scenes, schedules, linked-integration status, hub details, and activity entries. Energy figures in the current product are estimates calculated from configured panel area and state; they are not utility-meter readings.
Security and technical information
When you authenticate or use the control service, we may handle your IP address, browser or app user agent, an optional device name, last-seen time, session records, and a device fingerprint derived from your account, IP address, and user agent. We also process request and error information needed to protect, diagnose, and operate the Services.
Communications
If you email or call Piranix, we receive the contact information and project details you choose to provide. As of this policy's effective date, the quote and newsletter forms displayed on piranix.com are not connected to a server: their entries are not transmitted to or stored by Piranix. We will update the form and this policy before using those controls to collect submissions.
How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- create and authenticate accounts, maintain sessions, and prevent account takeover;
- provide home, room, panel, scene, schedule, household, and integration features;
- send requested control instructions and show the resulting activity and status;
- answer enquiries and provide customer or technical support;
- monitor reliability, investigate errors, and protect the Services; and
- meet legal obligations and enforce service terms where applicable.
We do not use Google or Apple identity data to build an advertising profile or to train an advertising model.
Cookies & local storage
piranix.com
The Piranix marketing-site code does not currently include analytics or advertising trackers and does not connect its displayed quote or newsletter forms to a data store. The companies that deliver the site or external media may process basic request data under their own policies when your browser connects to their systems.
Piranix Home
The control platform uses strictly necessary authentication cookies to keep you signed in and protect session tokens. Its web interface may use browser storage for local preferences and prototype or demo state. Identity providers may set their own cookies when you choose their sign-in flow. Blocking necessary storage can prevent sign-in or saved preferences from working.
When information is shared
Piranix may disclose information only in the contexts needed to operate the Services:
- Within your household: authorized members can see shared home, member, device, scene, and activity information according to their role.
- At your direction: a voice-assistant or smart-home integration may receive or act on home-control information when an authorized member links it.
- Service delivery: data necessarily passes through providers used for hosting, network delivery, security, and identity verification.
- Legal and safety needs: we may preserve or disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect people, rights, or the Services.
Piranix does not sell personal information or Google user data, and does not share it with data brokers or for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Retention & deletion
We retain account, household, and device information while it is needed to provide the Services and maintain account security. We may keep limited records longer when needed to investigate abuse, resolve disputes, comply with law, or preserve the integrity of security and backup systems.
A self-service account-deletion flow is not currently available. To request deletion of an account, a linked provider identity, or associated home data, email admin@piranix.com from the address associated with the account. We may need to verify the request and consider the rights of other authorized household members before deleting shared data.
Security
Piranix uses technical and organizational safeguards designed for the sensitivity of the information. Current backend safeguards include one-way password hashing, hashed refresh-token records, provider-token validation, session revocation, access controls, and per-home authorization checks. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Keep your device and sign-in method secure, use a unique password when password sign-in is enabled, and do not send passwords or provider tokens to Piranix by email.
Your choices
Depending on your relationship with Piranix and applicable law, you may ask to:
- access or correct personal information associated with your account;
- remove an eligible household member or revoke an active session;
- unlink a Google or Apple identity, where another safe sign-in method is available;
- delete your account and associated personal information; or
- ask how Piranix has handled a particular piece of information.
Send a request from the email associated with the account so we can verify it. Piranix is based in Canada, but providers that support the Services may process information in another province or country, where it can be subject to local law.
We may revise this policy as the Services change. The effective date at the top will be updated when we do, and material changes will be presented through an appropriate Piranix channel.

Google & Apple sign-in
If you choose a provider button, that provider sends Piranix a signed identity token so the backend can verify the sign-in. Piranix uses the token's stable account identifier, verified email address, and available name to create or recognize your Piranix account. We do not receive your Google or Apple password.
Google sign-in is used only for identity and account security. Piranix does not ask for access to Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, contacts, photos, or other Google content. Piranix's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Apple may supply a one-time authorization code and, on first sign-in, a name. Where an Apple refresh token is returned for account-management support, the Piranix backend stores it encrypted. Disconnecting Piranix in a provider's account settings stops future provider access, but does not by itself delete the Piranix account or its home data; contact us to request that separately.
